One Artist Helps Another by Rolynn Anderson

I am pleased to have purchased a sketch for my next novel, Cézanne’s Ghost.  Here is Jeff Haines' lovely representation of Aline, a main character in my story, whose visage appears wraith-like on my cover along with the portion of a painting by Paul Cézanne.  I can't wait to show you my new cover, designed by Kris Lynn.  One artist helps another; we each tell stories with our creations!

Cover Reveal: FEAR LAND, a suspense/romance by Rolynn Anderson

ANGST!  How I love that word but despair at its emotion.  A new cover?  Oh, the turmoil, the second-guessing and the worry.  How will the cover look as a thumbnail?  Do people understand the message it sends?  Will they catch a sense of what the book is about?  Does the cover capture reader interest?

Along with my cover artist, Kim Mendoza, we present FEAR LAND, soon to be released.  It's a suspense/romance centered on anxiety.  You'll find out here when, in the next two weeks, you can find FEAR LAND!  Thanks for supporting my stories!  Rolynn

Tally hates hearing rants from people’s brains.
What does she do when those mind-screams
 threaten the man she loves?

Tally Rosella, an acclaimed psychiatrist who helps children fraught with anxiety, avoids adults because their brains rant at her.  But the chance to start a second child study and connect her findings to PTSD, sets her squarely among devious colleagues at a big California university.

Army Major Cole Messer, Tally’s new neighbor, won’t admit that trauma from combat tours in Afghanistan, destroyed his marriage and hampered his ability to lead.  As a teacher of college ROTC and single parent, he’s focused on enrolling his highly anxious son in Tally’s study and getting back to active duty.

Someone is dead set against Tally’s presence at the university, and blowback from her battles with co-workers put Cole and his boy in jeopardy.  Watch what happens when people struggling with shades of anxiety collide with corrupt, revengeful foes.

Bucket List: Golf Trip with my Buds by Rolynn Anderson

Tomorrow, I head to Palm Springs with two of my golfing buddies.  We've downloaded a list of the top 30 golf courses in California, and by God, we're playing three of those puppies in three days, beginning a pledge to tick off three courses every year for ten years.  Now, for those of you who don't golf, this may sound like misery, but to the three of us, we're talking about fun!

We'll stay in a posh villa at Desert Willow (Westin), dipping into the pools and hot tubs whenever we have a chance.  The first day of golf, we'll play La Quinta, Mountain.  The second day, Desert Willow, Firecliff.  The third day, on our way home, we'll play Rustic Mountain in Moorpark.

The fun is obvious.  We'll play majestic, challenging courses in 90 degree weather.  In the evenings we'll have wine and appetizers in the villa while we strategize our dinner outing.  We'll search out fabulous restaurants and over delicious food, we'll debrief our day on the course as well as plan the next day.  In the evening, dressed in our comfy clothes, we'll watch the Outlander series (last season on TV).

The five hour drive to and from Palm Springs is just as fun.  Stops at Starbucks, chats about our lives and the plans we have for the future...nonstop, interesting conversation.

Checking off a bucket list with friends?  Nothing better!

Are you a golfer?  Then I'll bet you'd like the list of 30.  Here goes:

THANKFUL FOR SO MUCH, ESPECIALLY MY HUSBAND by Rolynn Anderson

This is my first blog in my new Blogger site, so I'm thankful, first, that you are reading this message.  Angela Hayes asked me what I'm thankful for.  Easy answer:  I'm thankful for my husband, a calm and capable guy who can fix anything and who builds gorgeous furniture for our house.  He's a keeper!  I mean, I can write and weed and build a novel, but most mechanical things render me helpless.  For those of you in a partnership, which of the two of you is the handiest?  How did that person learn their skill?

I'm also thankful that my latest novel, LIE CATCHERS, is catching the imagination of my readers.

Two unsolved murders will tear apart an Alaska fishing town unless a writer and a government agent reveal their secret obsessions.

Treasury agent Parker Browne is working undercover in Petersburg, Alaska to investigate a money scam and a murder. His prime suspect, Liv Hanson, is a freelance writer struggling to save her family’s business.

Liv pens a series of newspaper articles about an old, unsolved murder. When her cold case ties in with Parker’s investigation, bullets start to fly.
