I Pitched to a Hollywood Producer...by Rolynn Anderson

Two years ago I joined Sisters in Crime.  I’ve got a new set of friends and a BUNCH of adventures!  I’ve gone to Bouchercon in Long Beach, Left Coast Crime in Phoenix, and I just returned from Sisters in Crime in Hollywood.
Funny story: one of the clerks at the Hilton Hotel where the conference took place, looked at our ‘Sisters in Crime’ title, and thought we were all criminals who’d done time and were getting together after leaving prison :-)

Anyway, I wanted to give back by sharing my takeaways on the three day event.  Go to this blog-April 10- to read my notes: http://rosesofprose.blogspot.com

If you’re so inclined, click on this tweet and help me share this information to more people.  Thanks, Rolynn

I'm a guest on Casi McClean's Blog today-take a look!

I wasn’t even aware that writing a series would help me work through grief, but it did. Now that I’m done, I can see it! How about you? Do you use writing to ‘work through a thing’? I’m giving away an e-book of Faint to a random responder.  http://casimclean.com/rolynn-anderson/

Yule Kage: Start your year with a sweet bread! by Rolynn Anderson

Didn't have time to make this jewel during the holidays?  How about welcoming the new year with it?  Get crackin'! Happy 2016!

Rolynn's Favorite Jule Kage (a Norwegian favorite, but without the mashed potatoes)

1 pkg. active dry yeast
1/4 c. warm water
3/4 c. lukewarm milk (scalded then cooled)
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ground cardamom
1 egg
2 tbsp. shortening or butter
1 c. raisins

3 1/4 to 3 3/4 c. all purpose flour

Dissolve yeast in warm water in large bowl.  Beat in milk, sugar, salt, cardamom, egg, shortening, raisins, citron and 1 1/2 cups of the flour.  Beat until smooth.  Stir in enough remaining flour to make dough easy to handle.

Turn dough onto lightly floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 5 minutes.  Place in greased bowl; turn greased side up.  Cover; let rise in warm place until double; 2 hours or more.  Dough is ready if indentation remains when touched.

Punch down dough; shape into round loaf.  Place in greased round layer pan, 9 by 1 1/2 inches.  Cover; let rise until double, about 2 hours.  Heat oven to 350 degrees.  Brush dough with Egg Yolk Glaze.  Bake until golden brown, 30-40 minutes.  While still warm, brush with butter, then sprinkle cinnamon and sugar over the top.  Delicious warm with butter.  Also wonderful toasted with peanut butter...OMG!

"Lost in Aix," a three part short story-a holiday gift for you! by Rolynn Anderson

I'm running a 3-part short story on another blog- http://www.rosesofprose.blogspot.com.  The plot is based on an awful experience I had in France...it's a cautionary tale for all travelers.  In the first part, you'll meet an American tour guide working in France.  Next you'll meet Aline…along with her cautionary tale.  (If you haven’t read part 1 of my three part short story, simply scroll down to part 1 on http://www.rosesofprose.blogspot.com).  Comment on each part and you may win a free e-pub of my novel, FAINT, just released.
Happy reading!  Rolynn

FAINT Cover Reveal of Suspense/Romance by Rolynn Anderson (Click here to read/leave a comment)

Got Cover Angst?  Isn't it a great feeling to be done thinking/creating/revising a cover for your book?  I had no idea my cover for Faint, third in the boutique funeral planner suspense series, would end up 'winter appropriate,' for the holidays, but the timing was right! The coffin in each scene is key: note the empty coffin in FADEOUT, the 'drowning' coffin in SWOON, and now, the 'snowed-in' coffin in FAINT.  I'm excited about the story and the cover...both coming together the end of November around Thanksgiving.  I'm spending the holiday in the mountains of west Virginia with family, so the stars seem to be aligning for this release.  Here are the Funeral Planner Suspense Series, Books 1 and 2...and the reveal of novel number 3!

FAINT
The Funeral Planner Suspense Series - Book 3
By Award-winning Author, Rolynn Anderson

Their dead clients refuse to rest in peace.

How did small-town boutique funeral planning morph into crime-solving?  Ask freelance embalmer Trudy Solomon, or Pete McDonald, a blind, forensic investigator.  They’re solving mysteries of the deceased for their pregnant boss, Jan Keller, while her journalist husband, Roman, is benched by a ten million dollar defamation suit.

A dead client goes missing, and investigating his disappearance forces Trudy and Pete to confront their fiercely independent styles.  When danger stalks them, will they blend brains, brawn and belief in one another?
